The city is very near the German capital, Berlin.

Historically, Potsdam was a city that promoted religious tolerance, and therefore attracted thousands of people who migrated from France, Russia, the Netherlands and Bohemia. Therefore, the city became one of the most cultured centers throughout Europe, and various influences from other countries decorated the city in several different architectural styles.

Sans Souci Palace, built in 1745 by King Frederick II, is one of the most famous and emblematic buildings of the city. The palace is built in rococo style and was home to several royal families. The site, of only one floor was built to rival the palaces of Versailles, and was the favorite of the royal family to relax. In the territory of the huge palace is the Sanssouci Park II, just two miles from downtown. In the park we can find a botanical park, the Botanischer Garten Potsdam. Next to the main palace are the Orangery, a smaller palace was used as residences for the Royal visitors. Between 1763 and 1769, it has built the majestic New Palace to celebrate the end of the Seven Years War. This palace is even larger than the Sans Souci Palace, and has more than 200 rooms. In the territory of the palace are also worth visiting the Charlottenhof Palace, built in neoclassical style in the nineteenth century. Visitors can also visit the Tea House of the eighteenth century and the famous nineteenth-century Roman Baths.

If you walk around town will be more than several thousands of gems such as sculptures, statues, buildings and monuments that fill the city. We recommend going to the historical center is located in the Alter Markt, the Old Market Square. There you can find the ancient remains of the City Palace, which was bombed during the Second World War and was later, demolished, but have already begun work to rebuild the Fortunaportal and the palace. The square is also one of the most important churches in the city, Nikolai, dating from the nineteenth century.

Next to the Old Market Square is the Altes Rathaus, the Old Town Hall, which was built in the mid eighteenth century. Its dome is Atlas with the world on his shoulders. This city also features the Brandenburg Gate, which resembles the majestic gate of Berlin.

The neighborhood Netherlands is also a place worth visiting, and highlighting their 150 typical houses built together, all red brick style Dutchman. A little north of the town is the Russian district, called Alexandrowka, with noteworthy architecture and a Russian Orthodox chapel. The district was declared a World Heritage Site. To the east lies the Neuer Garten, a large park that dates back to 1786 and is decorated in English style. The park is Cecilienhof Palace, where they met the leaders of the United States, the Soviet Union and the United Kingdom in 1945, and the Marble Palace, built in 1789.

Nearby is the Biosphäre of Potsdam, a tropical botanical garden. Babelberg In the region of the city is the Einstein Tower, an astrophysical observatory, which was designed by the famous architect Erich Mendelsohn.

The Argentine northwest us closer to our ancient culture, the indigenous, the folklore, although the roots and mine are in Italy, I still identify more with the NOA to the Piedmont countryside. Maybe it’s the passing of so many heroes in these lands, so many years of culture, cities with much history, strong traditions and conservative societies. We have been traveling 2 days ago from Buenos Aires. I crossed the warm Santiago del Estero and did night in San Miguel de Tucuman, we began to move into what will be the Calchaquies Valley, the road is very winding and very thick vegetation. We climb to reach 2000 mts. The landscape is changing significantly, we went from a lush forest, where stands the Monument to the Indian sculptor Calchaquí Tucuman Enrique Prat Gay, clear and colorful meadows. The first stop we made in the Moll, a small village on the south bank of the La Angostura dam where we found the Archaeological Reserve The Menhires. There are hundreds of these exponents of culture stone Tafi, each worked with different expressions and sizes.

The Mollar: ancient stone structures
Crossing the dam we’re almost to Tafi del Valle, our home for a few days, we settled in the cottage we rented and went out to enjoy this beautiful summer village. The climate of this region is a special guest, as it remains stable and pleasant throughout the year.

Sunset in Tafi del Valle
Missing a few days for The National Cheese Festival, held each February in Tafi, so we can see and taste the typical food Pascanas selling as locro humitas, homemade sausages and desserts like sweet cayote, alfajores of Capio and Of course, the famous cheese tafinisto.

Locro: impossible to pass through this region without enjoyment
We take a tour of the picturesque town center and the exhibition of Tafi, where excel, and throughout the Northwest, the crafts of the area.

A ride through the landscapes that surround the area guided by a Vaqueano, it is imperative to discover the natural surroundings. At night there is always some pain, to share and enjoy music and the typical food of this region. The next day we visited the Jesuit Museum of Banda, where there is a museum, historical, archaeological and religious art, the richness of its heritage and the building is one of the largest in the NOA.

Stay In The rooms are the only cheese that is still producing the original recipe left by the Jesuits in the seventeenth century. As a farewell to this town that energized us and dazzled us with its landscapes, in the afternoon, we went to the Angostura dam, where you can enjoy water sports and relax with a breathtaking sunset. The next morning we journey to the Calchaquies Valley and stopped at La Bourse, an archaeological site, which contains the presence of indigenous architectural expressions, made of stone, built between 300 BC and 800 of the current era. We’re almost to Amaicha Valley to continue to the ruins of Quilmes and Cafayate in Salta, but that is another trip .

From the sea, fishermen San Sebastian perceived as a city with three inputs to ground, one in Mount Igueldo and the Isle of Santa Clara, a second between Santa Clara and Mount Urgull and last fall to Mount Ulia. Irutxulo was called by then as the Basque translation of the phrase “three holes”. This perception of seafood capital of Guipuzcoa seems to get along with movie stars, Michelin and luxury hotel brands in mid-September to gain presence in the International Film Festival. However, the city, named in 1980 as San Sebastian, can become a pleasant discovery for the traveler on low incomes who do not get blinded by its brightness.

The charming buildings that gave it the nickname “Little Paris” in the second half of the nineteenth century emerged from the degree of deference that the regent Maria Cristina granted the city by moving his court there in summer. The “belle epoque” Donostia bequeathed to the twenty-first century luxury buildings like the Victoria Eugenia, Hotel Maria Cristina spas before Trotsky traveled the world war and now only admire the wealthy from their interiors.

Today, the pulse of the city is a voluntary one. Larger two widening is still an affordable area for the traveler who likes to walk the Old Town on foot. It also has an excellent network of buses (night weekends) that connects with people on the periphery and facilitates an excursion to Mount Igueldo or amusement park from the early twentieth century. Although the downtown is the ideal lodging (little chance in shelters in San Sebastian center below 20 €), good communication between neighborhoods have hostels outside as a very economic and, especially during high season. If you decide on this option, we will have the luxury of being neighbors in the natural setting of the museum of sculptor Eduardo Chillida.

The bike, owned or rented, adds to the transport network. In San Sebastian runs about 25 miles of bike lanes, the highest proportion user / longitude of Spain, and has more than 150 parking spots. An excellent opportunity for the passenger does not wear excessive physical or economic efforts and discover that there are beaches beyond La Concha. In swimming season or under the usual rain worth Donostia reach the most remote and untouched, that of Zurriola, nudist since 2004, reaching the Peine del Viento or properly secured the bike, crossing to the island of Santa Clara.

At this point, the capital San Sebastian has already soaked through and not just for its moisture. We have not made much the portfolio and maybe we can afford the 90-minute guided tour organized by the tourist office, the entrance to the Aquarium, Kutxaespacio or a museum. With the multi-card San Sebastian Card (13 € +1 € refundable) will save us between 10 and 30 percent more visitors in these and also free up the bus.
We leave these routes for later and enjoy the gastronomy of the place: the pintxos and Basque cider. In the tradition of the locals, stayed at the Boulevard to go to the street where Fermin Calbetón not of good food will save 1.5 € / 2 € per bite or pull into the harbor Gaztelubide. In addition to savoring a good cod we approach the men who organize activities between clusters.

Another option is the culinary route that starts from the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd to the Maria Cristina Bridge. The outlet of the Gipuzkoa plaza will give us a quiet and beautiful spot to rest as ingested.
Basque identity card with San Sebastian is accustomed to hosting overseas without disregarding the tradition of the land. Its inhabitants seem to have breathed air through the culture of Biscay and festivals have become their benchmark. At Film are added the July Jazz or International Fireworks in August, coinciding with the week Grande. Dates from which to flee the lover of calm or who does not want to pay more for the same in this dazzling city that aspires to be European Capital of Culture 2016.
