Civic Engagement in Costa Rica

For three years we have seen everyday citizen awareness and love of nature felt by Costa Rica. In no country in which my family and I have resided feel that the general public has developed so much and civic awareness. In Europe, the love of nature and its preservation is a bastion of environmental groups, leftist parties and little else. Large multinationals, mega hotel chains, etc are definitely doomed to make big business objectives in most cases purely economic matters a little battered wildlife and eco European system. It is enviable to see how Costa Rican children grow and learn in schools and homes to care for, protect and love nature, wildlife, flora definitely love their country.
Costa Rican society is proud to be a country with no army, security and great democratic tradition. Now the challenge now is to maintain that delicate balance between sustainability and urban development that has been undertaken in the last 2 decades, without a formal control by the state authorities that brought negative consequences as physical impact on the natural environment.
Costa Rica is a small country with a great soul and an invaluable wealth is its people. All foreigners who share their land, their desires, have a duty to integrate and follow his example for us to make a nation great and prosperous. We must be critical of anything that destroys our eco-system and not allow Costa Rica to become a mass destination with unscrupulous developers who cut down our trees and destroying our mountains, we must treat Mother Nature with the same love with which she welcomes us so that we can bequeath to future generations a better planet.
