Aragon is the northeastern province of Spain that presents a great diversity of beautiful sights: high, snowy peaks belonging to the Pyrrenees, valleys full of green grass, lonely sierras and arid plains that stretch to the meseta (the central plain). The vast zone that occupies 10% of Spain’s territory hosts a rich assortment of works of art from Roman and Moorish times, and even from the Middle Ages. The region is extremely beautiful and would be one of the best holiday destinations you have ever chosen.

Albarracin

Albarracin is the most spectacular city in lower Aragon, situated in the arid region of Sierra de Albarracin, dominated by the Guadalaviar river. Albarracin has been designated a National Monument and the restoration has been carefully developed. If you visit Albarracin, you’ll have the opportunity to see the ramparts built by the Moors in the 10th century. They can be seen from miles away. In the centre of the city, wooden houses with red balconies fill the streets. You must visit the Cathedral, built in Renaissance style; its museum hosts Flemish tapestries and beautiful liturgical objects.

Anso

One of the most beautiful cities in the Pyrrenees is situated in a splendid region, an isolated one, just 7 kilometers away from the Navarra border. This isolation has led to the appearance of a separate dialect and culture. You’ll find more on the subject if you visit the small Etnologico Museum.

Sos del Rey Catolico

This city with a special name is defended by gates with cannons; the name comes from the fact that the city is the birthplace of King Fernando de Aragon. Sos is located in the harsh region of Sierra de la Pena and can easily be visited starting from the Monasterio de Leyne (Leyne Monastery). Sos was, in the Middle Ages, a fortress that was protecting against the possible invasions from Navarra. Here you can still visit the ruins of the castle and, right under them, the Sant Esteban Church. Inside the church your eyes will be delighted by the Capilla del Pilar (old Renaissance style), the crypt and the special decorations on the walls. In Sos you can also admire the beautiful Renaissance buildings: Palacio de los Sada where King Fernando was born and the harmonious residencies connected by arched vaults. I am sure that you will love the region, so consider choosing it as a holiday destination!

But it is also an excellent excuse to come back because no one visits the city and end up in love with it. There are some things we can not do if we have one day in Rome. Including a visit to the Roman Forum is a must.

Several imperial forums were attaching to each other through the years passed. In the Via dei Fori Imperiali we passed the remains of the Forum of Nerva, Trajan and Cesar. Today there are just some columns and arches as bastions of the past survive in the midst of a city that bustles with the rhythm of the XXI century.

The historical role of the forum is well documented functioned as social centers of the city. There was organized and decided the commercial, religious and administrative Rome.

A visit to the ruins of the Roman Forum is a good plan if you only have 24 hours in the Italian capital. The huge property is located in the center of the city and is easily accessible. There you can tour the ruins, admire the mosaic floors that have transgressed the destructive passage of time and see the structures of medieval houses. The forum was discovered in the sixteenth century, but it just dug the last century. Apparently it was always known of its existence but the space it occupied had been working as a garbage dump and had built houses there in medieval times.

To visit the Forum is to enter through the door that is opposite the Colosseum. Admission is free to the public.

The city of Dubrovnik is situated on the Adriatic coast. The city is considered one of the biggest parties in Europe and each year attracts tourists seeking sun, sand and fun and tourists who come to learn about the fascinating culture and traditions.

Dubrovnik is known for its walls, most were built between the XII and XVII. The walls cover more than 2 kilometers from the city and reach a height of 25 meters. Although most of these old walls have less than four feet thick, some of the walls can reach six meters thick. Between the walls even today you can see many castles and towers in previous centuries. Today, the Old City, home to most of these medieval walls, is considered World Heritage by UNESCO.

Among the most notable strengths stands the fortress of San Juan, Sveti Ivan, built in the XIV century. This fortress overlooks the sea and was in charge of protecting the port of Dubrovnik, which at that time was one of the busiest in Europe. Inside are the Maritime Museum and Aquarium of Dubrovnik.

Within its walls also feature several bunkers, like the Fort Bokar, one of the oldest in Europe. Some towers have been preserved to the present day, as the impressive Torre Minceta, the highest of all and built in 1317. The tower was finished in the fifteenth century, is one of the highest points of the city and from there open up stunning views both to the sea and the historic city.

On the walls that once protected the city of Dubrovnik, there are four doors. Two of them open towards the sea, while two others, known as Stack and Ploca, open onto a Gothic bridge decorated with statues of San Blas that connect to other parts of the city.

The Old Port of Dubrovnik, protected by the tower of San Lucas, is the oldest wharf in the city that is still operational. The district of Puerto Viejo, formerly one of the most important cities, now is a pleasant tourist destination full of cafes, traditional restaurants and craft shops.

There are several beaches in Dubrovnik. Lapad beach stand full of trees and sand beaches on one side and stone on the other and Banje beach, near the Old Town and famous for its breathtaking views of the walls.

Tours highlight Elafitti Islands. In the port of Dubrovnik, there are many boats and sightseeing tours offered by the nearby islands of the Adriatic Sea. Near the coast of Dubrovnik is the island of Lokrum. On this island there is an old fort, a monastery, a botanical garden and a nudist beach, and other local beaches.

This city of dreams, fairy tales and undeniable classic, is a perfect destination for weekend in two days you know the main attractions of the city.

Crossing the Vltava river is located one of the most beautiful bridges in Europe: the Charles Bridge. Commissioned by the Emperor Charles IV in 1357, was completed in 1400 and is the most attractive route Stare Mesto (Old Town) of Prague Castle. While it is the stronger of the world, you can scan quickly, from the Gothic St. Vitus Cathedral and Golden Lane to the gardens.

Mala Strana (Lesser Town) fined one of the best postcards of the city. The winding alleys of the neighborhood, with old lanterns and hidden restaurants, will take you to the museum Franz Kafka and the amazing Wallenstein Garden.

Across the river, and in Stare Mesto, you know the Jewish Museum, with its ancient cemetery crammed 12,000 tombstones, synagogues beautiful and magical legends of golems.

In the Old Town Square you will find the astronomical clock. Walk down the street Parizska (Paris), known somewhat exaggerated as the Champs Elysees in Prague.

Wenceslas Square is a good excuse to visit the unique squalor of Nove Mesto (New Town).

Prague is a great maze. Whether pursuing the hilarious David Cerny sculpture or embriagandote with the best beer in the world, the city will offer more intimate urban experiences.

That is, some robberies product of economic recession and unemployment.

At least that is what confirms the ranking of the online travel community TripAdvisor. According to the latest listing portal, organized according to the opinions of tourists, Barcelona is the city where you have to take extra care when traveling due to the presence of pickpockets who take advantage of distractions to steal their passengers’ handbags and wallets.

The ranking was drawn from the number of times that users of TripAdvisor mentioned the term “pocket” in their views and comments.

This is how the following list was developed through which also warns that Spain is the country where most thefts seem to occur:

1. Barcelona
2. Rome
3. Paris
4. Madrid
5. Athens
6. Praga
7. Costa Blanca
8. Lisbon
And this is a land that has been linked for years in the glamorous world of Hollywood and the genius of great artists.

An example: The Flying Dutchman was filmed in Tossa de Mar, and The Light at the World in the Cap de Creus. The Costa Brava has been visited by great artists, in addition to rolling in it, have enjoyed their landscapes: Ava Gardner, Liz Taylor, Montgomery Clift, Katherine Hepburn and Gerard Depardieu.

But artists like Picasso and Luis Bunuel visited the area. Others, like Dali, really left a lasting imprint in the area. Highly recommended, by the way, visit the Casa Museo Dali in Cadaques, a jewel of the Costa Brava in the bohemian atmosphere that pervades everything.

By the way, since you are in this area, be sure to visit Girona, a really beautiful city.

Valladolid is one of the places in Castile where we can find more castles.

One of these is the Castillo de Curiel, in Curiel de Duero. La Residencia Real Castillo de Curiel is a unique place to rest and stay, because in Spain there are not many accommodations, such as this, let sleeping in a fortress for hundreds of years.

After spending a night in this amazing place, the next worth place to visit is Chateau de Penafiel, which was declared a National Monument in 1917. This is one of the most impressive medieval fortifications of our geography.

Also stresses Fontaneda Castle as the locals call it, in Ampudia (as it pertains to this family at present). Incidentally, in Ampudia, after seeing the castle, worth a stop and discover this amazing place.

Medina del Campo in the Castle of La Mota, one of the best known and equally impressive. By the way, a tip: in your journey through the castle, be sure to enjoy the cuisine of Valladolid.

However, if we embark on a journey through the major northern cities, Copenhagen is the most dissonant of the group. Is it because of its more southerly location and the influences of their continental neighbors?

Copenhagen suffers from a common urban curse: the more you discover, the more it disappoints. However, you can take a large of Danish postal if you spend just one day and meet with this itinerary:

1. Cruise from Nyhavn (New Harbour). Magnificent 60 minute drive where you will meet a hidden city, enjoy modern buildings facing the river and the “Danish Armsterdam.” I’ll run with stunning buildings such as the Royal Library, with its new building in 1999 (Black Diamond) of shiny black marble facade and glass, or with the adorable Little Mermaid sculpture.

2. Stroget, a pedestrian shopping street where you’ll find hundreds of shops, cafes and restaurants.

3. Islands Brygge and Orestad, known as “the Manhattan of Copenhagen, is the most exclusive area of the city. Previously known for its high crime rate, today is one of the most dynamic sectors of the capital, with stunning architecture, unique art galleries and outdoor pools.

4. Falledparken. Not the most publicized park, but without doubt the most beautiful.

5. Christiansborg Palace. The Tapestry collection gifted to the present Queen Margrethe’s 60th anniversary by recounting the history of Denmark is a must.

7. Tivoli Gardens are the alleged main attraction of the city, but no more than an amusement park.

Christiania is one of the classic routes from Copenhagen to be the only “free city” of the world, where people do not pay taxes and build their own homes without giving a penny to the state.

However, this beautiful utopia is now the largest selling hashish center of Copenhagen and the colorful picture is marred by sad images of children with syringes. If you decide to visit the community, do it before dark.

Most of the administrative centers, museums and monuments are located on the main island, divided into six municipalities. The island, known back then as Camahogne, was discovered in 1498, a few years after the discovery of America.

Centuries later, the same Cardinal Richelieu gave the order to found a new capital in the country, Fort Royal, which years later became the current capital St. George’s. The country, then known as La Grenade, was one of the largest natural harbors in the region and the islands were major exporters of sugar.

The capital is St. George’s, located on the island of Grenada. The city lies on the shores of a bay and overlooks a volcanic crater. The city dates from 1650. Some of the most important monuments of the island are located in this charming city. They emphasize the churches and cathedrals that were built in the nineteenth century, as the Anglican Church in 1825 and the Catholic Cathedral of 1818. The city has many buildings built in colonial style, among which the Parliament, the Senate and the Supreme Court.

There is a fort that was built by the French in 1705, the Fort George. The city also has a traditional market specializing in fresh local products and is always crowded. The Grenada National Museum has a large collection of artifacts and historical documents that tell the history of the country. Wharf Road is one of the main streets where there are a variety of restaurants, many specializing in seafood products fresh from the sea and shops. For athletes, this city is the Queen’s Park Stadium Stadium Complex, which was built in 2007 during the celebration of the Cricket World Cup.

Grenville is the second largest city and is located on the shores of the Bay of Grenville. The city is noted for its ancient church of England.

Sauteurs is a small city located in the municipality of Saint Patrick. It is one of the largest cities of Granada. The city has stunning views towards the Bay of Sauteurs. The city owes its name to the Sauteurs, jumpers, who were the Caribbean natives who chose to jump into the sea from a cliff 40 meters before being conquered by the French in 1651. In 1664, it created a kind of monument to his memory that can be visited today. The city has other historical monuments, such as historical or traditional staircase where each morning market selling fish and other fresh marine products. About Sauteurs are the best beaches, as Bathway, and several volcanic craters, such as Lake Antoine.

Gouyave is located in the municipality of St. John and specializes in fishing. This city was built on the nation’s largest pier in 1882. It is certainly the liveliest city across the country, and is known for its bars, restaurants and clubs. This city also hosts many festivals, carnivals and parties in general, so it has earned the name and reputation of the town partying.

One of the strangest holidays celebrated in Gouyave. The Fisherman’s Birthday is celebrated every June 29. Fishermen across the country gather in the city to participate in boat races and competitions, tastings and all sorts of activities. Every Friday, the city celebrates Fish Friday, and that day both tourists and locals can enjoy and taste the best seafood.

The country is known for its mix of cultures and traditions and their unspoiled natural landscapes.

Granada is one of Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela. The country is known as the spice island, since for centuries are one of the leading producers of nutmeg.

The country of 334 square kilometers has about 110,000 inhabitants. The Spanish and the British failed to conquer the island, but by the year 1650, the island was colonized by the French. The capital is St. George’s and the official bird is the dove of Granada, which is in danger of extinction.

Granada is the country’s largest island, and the other islands Carriacou, Caille Island, Diamond Island, Frigate Island, Long Island, Ronde Island, Saline Island and Petit Martinique. Ronde Island is part of Granada, and is currently the most expensive private island in the world. The most prominent cities are St. George’s, Grenville and Gouyave.

The islands are of volcanic origin and have a fantastic panorama. Several rivers originate in the mountains before emptying into the sea, and there are many waterfalls around the island.

For centuries, the spice island has specialized in the production of cinnamon, cloves, ginger and nutmeg. Even the flag of Granada highlights the importance of these exports, since one of the shields of the flag represents a nutmeg.

Tourism forms an important part of the country’s economy. The islands offer many possibilities to practice various water sports such as snorkeling, diving or fishing, and beaches are among the best in the world.

Carriacou is the largest island in the country. The territory of the island is full of mountains and beaches, so it attracts the tourists most active. You can do trekking, water sports and fishing. There are many natural bays across the island, in addition to beautiful coral reefs that attract divers. The Carriacou Regatta is held the first weekend of August. During the Parang, the islanders celebrate Christmas.

Hillsborough is the capital of the island of Carriacou. This city is the Museum of Carriacou, in a building that was once a mill.

The island has many festivals. In the small town of Victoria, located in the municipality of St. Mark’s, we celebrate the Feast of San Marcos, and the streets are filled with stalls offering the best local dishes, shops and galleries and outdoor music and entertainment. In Victoria also hosts the Sunset City Food Fest. The last Saturday of each month, both visitors and locals can enjoy a variety of local dishes while enjoying the company of the Caribbean. Here you can taste the oil down, the most typical of Granada. This dish is based on several types of meat and other products made with milk and coconut oil.

Near Victoria is the country’s highest point, Mount St. Catherine, which reaches 840 meters and is among the many mountains of the interior. Next door is a true wonder of nature, the Tufton Hall Waterfall.

Grenadian culture is a curious mixture. Since both the British and the French were on this island, two cultures left their mark. However, the majority of the population is descended from former African slaves and Indian immigrants, and therefore culture is a fusion between these two streams. The official language is English, but most of the population uses the Creole language French.

Since the French spent many years in the islands, even today its influence can be seen in buildings in many cities. Many of the names of the spices also have French roots, although many other aspects of culture are mixed with African or Indian roots.

During the carnival dance and music are the obvious protagonists. The dances of soca, reggae and calypso come from several different cultures, but fail to harmonize in this island, creating a unique atmosphere.
